Let spring happen [MTL]

On Monday it rained. On Tuesday it snowed. And on Wednesday… we worked out.

The weather in Montreal has been temperamental to say the least, but our crew showed up to put in the work at the second hill workout of Apr-Hill this month. What’s Apr-Hill? It’s a clever pun that Laurent “borrowed” (re: stole) from NP LAX when he was down there for The Speed Project at the end of March.

The first week, we took on the gentle incline of Place Jacques-Cartier. We did a Tabata push-up variations workout with hill sprint intervals which many people felt the next morning as they tried to shampoo their hair. No one will be mad with your firm deltoids come tank top season, though.

This past week, we raced Yamajo Hill (saved in Google Maps and on Strava), which was ideal for the inclement weather and potentially icy conditions. We love to workout hard and push ourselves, but NOBODY needs an injury. That’s why we select our locations with safety and adaptability in mind. The extra safeguard was of course that the hospital was right at the top of the hill! Members crushed the hill climb after a burpee buy-in and cashed-out with inchworms before heading back down.

Next week, we’re going back to McGill campus, beloved by members for its central location. We have a workout planned (LC’s type-A-ness assures it) and you better believe there’s a hill because we are ON BRAND dangit! Apr-Hill continues and you’re invited, of course, to join us.

Wednesday at 6:29 a.m. We bring the music, you bring your BEST effort, and we’ll share some good vibes and an opportunity to start the day off the best way we know how. We don’t know what the weather holds, but we know you’re made of tough stuff (#WeatherProof).

In case you think you might bail, enlist the help of an accountability buddy. Text/tell them your #verbal commitment to show up on Wednesday morning. It’s a safeguard against the snooze that is all too easy to hit when your alarm goes off in the morning.

See you soon!
