WISCONSIN NOTES:
- Happy Halloween motha ‘uckas
- The tribe doesn’t know what pumpkins are. All veggies (and fruits) are created equally
- No one in the tribe is born in August (or no one likes Jeremy)
- We ate candy as part of the workout so if you slept in today, you missed out big time
- Shout out to Benedicte who makes boss muffins
- That sunrise. Nothing better.

What?? No announcements today?? No links to be clicked or events to be shared?? How could it be? Welp, I guess we’re just giving you all the week off to nurse your candy hangovers and start to settle into fall! Enjoy it while it lasts! Our next hype is our 1 year anniversary so keep your eyes peeled for info on the mega-workout going down on Wednesday November 22nd!

This morning was a pleasure and a half! Derek and I worried that we might be the only ones to show up in costume, but you showed up tribe. You showed up BIG. Some costume honourable mentions include a full ghostbuster (V à propos in regards to our bounce. Well-played Lindsay.), a few animals, a number of children’s characters, a number of puns, death himself, and 2 giant bananas (incidentally, carrying 2 smaller bananas).

This morning also featured an assortment of produce. We asked the tribe to bring pumpkins for the workout and ended up with a couple of pumpkins, a few bananas, an apple, a zucchini, a potato, and a LOT of yams (hence the name of this post. It’s a pun. Puns are funny. Deal with it). It was of utmost entertainment speculating on how passersby felt as you all commuted to the workout dressed up head to toe and carrying a full salad in your hands, all before 7am. If that isn’t the perfect example of how this crazy thing that we do week after week is really just adult gym class/general foolishness, then I don’t know what is.

Thanks to Heather (insta: @reidh084) for this jaw-dropping photo from the morning. No filter needed!
Now let’s talk about the view: This city of ours really is amazing. As the days get shorter and the mornings start later, we are the few that get to see where it all begins. We watch the pink creep up along the water as we run down Place Jacques Cartier and we experience firsthand the glorious sunrise as we lunge towards a new day. On that note, now is a good time to acknowledge each and every one of you for waking up rain or shine, dark or light, summer or winter, to spend an hour of your day with the best kind of strangers as they gradually turn to friends. We know that you look longingly at your snooze button on Wednesday mornings, and we know that you ignore it, put on a costume, and sweat it out with us. You make that choice week after week and that is an amazing thing. You’re killing it tribe. By showing up, you are showing yourself that you are committed to a little bit of Wednesday morning self-care and that you are going to fuel your body with sweaty hugs and laughing high 5s. You are showing yourself that you are strong enough to hold that squat for another few burning, trembling seconds, and that you are going to encourage and cheer on all the other shaking bodies around you without asking for anything in return. What you’re doing isn’t good, it’s great. Keep doing that shit.
And as per the wise punny words that were heard this morning, I am what I yam, so keep being what you yam, whatever the hell that means.
Happy Halloween!
