Those sneaky, sneaky PR Days will getcha!

ALRIGHT, Alright, alright! Afternoon Humans, bots, and stray cats!

DAY 3 with a #latergram post from Brooklyn, NY – seems like the best time to do a test trial of this whole blog situation…

HYPE THE NEWBS

Today is the third Wednesday of the month and we are officially proclaiming them to be our PR Day, EVERMORE! What is PR Day? Let me explain:

  • PR = Personal Record: A personal record is the best (for running: that would mean fastest) time that a distance is completed in a race, be it running or otherwise, which also includes the first time a distance is attempted.
  • PR Day: Once a month, every tribe in November Project will host a day to race their PR course to allow tribe members to witness their personal progression in racing. This will vary depending on life (in a nutshell) and more specifically depending on physical/mental status (injuries/fresh tattoos/recently broken-up with), alcohol consumed the night before, or if they raced over the weekend.

Jeanie and I both knew that about 89.7261% of the tribe had raced in the Air BnB Brooklyn Half  (AND CRUSHED IT, both from the cheering to the racing) and knew we had to hold us all accountable to getting on with the officially scheduled programing. Holding people accountable is another lovely subject about what brings the best out of people here at November Project, and we will save that for yet another rainy day!

All and all – we raced the 3.2 mile course this morning, freshly washed from the rain, and set our first times down on the pavement. Next month, we will run faster. At the least, we will try. We will work on our mental toughness, our ability to laugh at ourselves when shit doth hit the fan, assess what actually happened, apply new tactics, and give it another go. Boom. It’s that simple people. Go out and go for it. PR asking out individuals and get rejected for the highest record number of times. PR starting a new business with that one consumer or investor, and fight like hell to keep it afloat. PR writing AND publishing your first blog post.

WE DID IT #EVERYONEGETSAPR

Experiences, simple or grandiose, make your life. What do your life experiences currently say about you? Do you like how it reads? Is it easy? Does it have a plot? Are you in the ULTIMATE CLIFF HANGING SUSPENSE OF IT ALL? Or, are you on cruise control and actually unaware of what the fuck you are doing?

Guess what? You can still do something about it. Go out and PR. Channel your inner Natasha Bedingfield and remember, ‘the rest is still unwritten.’ (I learned back in grade school that incorporating inspiring quotes were the best way to make your point land with the reader – ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?! I digress…)

P.S. Next week..

WE TAKE OUR FIRST #YEARBOOKPHOTOS in the theme of KINGS & QUEENS – with the lovely Matt Powers behind the lens, you know this photo has the potential to be printed and framed beside, so you best COME CORRECT. That is all.

Toodles,
