We missed you Marky Mark (YWG)

Guest blog by #nakedDavid. He’s got a little bromance going for Mark and was feeling let down that he’s been standing us up at NP. Time to call him out. Take it away David.

Hi everyone and let me introduce you to Mark. (Mark, say hi to everyone.)

Mark

I first met Mark not through NP but through hockey. He joined our championship-winning law school team that went down to UND tournament last year. Cool dude, I thought. Good hockey player too.

Then he started showing up to NP last summer. Even cooler dude, I thought. Hockey player and comes out to NP? I like this kid. When we did the phone number exercise and follow up friendly text, who got my number? None other than Mark. How cool, right?

And then, last September, Mark (now in law school) got drafted onto my law hockey league team. I was pumped. Cool dude, good hockey player, someone to motivate me to get out of bed and push me at NP Wednesday mornings after playing hockey the night before – what could go wrong? And there’s this, highlighting he loves NP.

Well, this arrangement only works when both of us show up. I was there this morning. (Wednesday morning) Guess who wasn’t, after looking me in the eye after hockey last week and saying, “this is my verbal, not for tomorrow (March 9) but for next week” (i.e. today)…

MARK. MARKY-MARK MARK. (And I am in no way comparing him to Marky Mark Wahlberg – that guy is a boss. And born in Boston, birthplace of NP, so you know he’s cool.)

Now this isn’t the first time Mark has told me after hockey that “yup, I’ll be there tomorrow morning” or we part ways with a “see you in the morning ;)”. Previously I let it slide, thinking, OK, the little guy is tuckered from hockey and needs his rest for school. Well, we lost out of playoffs last week and didn’t play last night, so that excuse doesn’t fly. And as for the school part, that’s why we work out at 6:14 – so that we can crush an exercise and sweaty hugs AND THEN go to class. I mean, Christine and Chantelle were there this morning and I know they’re in school too. I’m sure there are others too. Plus, I can tell you that NP before law school is way easier to manage than NP before working as a lawyer. I know how much Facebook Scrabble you play in class Mark.

Mark also missed my birthday workout. I also asked him about partnering for the Summit in July but I don’t trust that #verbal now either. You’ve let me down Mark, and I’m hurt. You’ve also broken the cardinal rule of the NP verbal. You should know there are consequences to breaking laws – you’re a lawyer now. Make it up to me next week big guy.

Cheers all,
