Beachtober, we hardly knew ye…
The last four weeks have gone by in a flash. One consistency that remains in my mind though: every single workout the people came to play. There was a certain carefree attitude that was brought to the Santa Monica Beach, one that said “we’re gonna work, but it’s gonna be so fucking fun that we won’t care how hard it is.”
I saw it last week with the Sebastians. I saw it today during the Pumpkin Relay, and I saw it all over the place for the entire damn month. This tribe knows how to bring the rain while having an absurd amount of fun doing it.
And what strikes me the most is everyone’s willingness to act in such a way without any real prompting from myself and Ben. All we do are make workouts and take pictures. That spirits that radiates through everyone as we do so – that’s all you… that’s the tribe.
Beachtober is like our pump up song for the “winter” that’s about to be upon us. The mornings will be darker and cooler for a bit, but remember that sweet kiss of sand and salt water will be back before we know it. The tribe is strong, and finally proved they could get rained on for a second. Weekend earned.
