This is not about Indiana Jones.

Consider this your fair warning – I’m writing a blog on Indiana Jones after RUNNING Indiana Jones.  Honestly, I can’t Capozzi much harder than this. Excuse all grammar, spelling and nonsensical language (sorry Ethan Bookman).  Welcome to the world of deciphering overly excited Capozzi texts.

True or False.  Indiana Jones is the best workout we run on the hills?

One thing I love most about asking that over a blog is that I can’t see or hear those “aaaawwwwww, not again”s.  So right now I’m imagining that all of you are sitting (aka jumping around) like I am, at whatever job it is you do, matching my excitement and you’re riding this high straight into the weekend.  I’m taking that as a unanimous TRUE.

Emsauce did a baller job at explaining why I love Indiana Jones as much as I do, but I wanted to expand on it.  Every time Payne and Em ask what we wanna do at the hills on Friday, do I respond with “IJs, IJs, IJs!!!”?  Guilty.  Do I do this the week after we’ve just run IJs?  YUP.  Will I do it next week?  You bet.  So first thank Em and Payne for their incredible patience with me, but also for saving you from making Friday’s permanently IJs.  OHHHHHH C’mooon how ridiculously AWESOME would that be….let a child dream.  OH HOT DAMN,  stay tuned.  Indiana JUNES….followed by Frogust.*

But back to why I love Indiana Jones.  They are brutal.  They are terrible.  But that is what makes them so freakin awesome!  It’s always tough to break people into groups based on speed but own it.  Wherever you lined up this morning be proud AF of the people that you surrounded yourself with.  All of you pushed just a little harder and got a little faster because of it and THAT is what matters.  I  got to see all of you pushing hard on this cooler summer day, and shit was I proud.

With IJ’s you still get to see everyone that showed up so in that regard it’s no different than just running full hills, right?!  WHAT IS different is that now you are being held accountable by your group.  You’re part of a small team that’s conquering the hill – together.  You use each other to find that turbo boost and then HIT IT when it’s your turn.  This is almost impossible to find when you’re running alone; it’s always easier to just pump the breaks and crawl up to the top.  Well not today.  These hills are no joke.  Pair IJs with Frogman1 or one of its evolutionary counterparts and it’s been a solid week of work.  #weekendearned friends.

So is it June yet?!

OH WAIT, this blog was NOT supposed to be about Indiana Jones. Shit….. Here’s a cool announcement:

Monday we’re handing over the spare keys to the soccer Mom Van to the B’s.  For those of you who may not know, that’s one large, bald, Serbian named Poppa Bojan, aka Capt. Questions. The other is a tan San Diegan Ultra-Marathoner, named BG ‘Steve News’ Graham.  They promised to return the van with minimal scratches and a full tank of gas. And we’ll need that energy for Wednesday.

So the car reference might hit a little too close to home since these fuckers made the workout way out here. Verbal here.  Let’s throw it back to one of the original rules of #destinationdeck– if you’re within 6 miles of the spot, lace up and run your ass there.  You won’t want to miss it, spread the word.  The boys are back in town. We’ll see you there!

Peace out Homeslices.

Love Capoze.
