The #RaceMan of Winter

Here are the Wisconsin Notes for the middle Wednesday of the month–the Ides of November.

  • The #Redline workout today is one of those sneak-attack, kick-you-in-the-ass, make-you-need-to-puke, workouts you love to hate, and hate to love.
  • For those unaccustomed to the #Redline workout, it’s “normal” stairs, interspersed with 90 second redline periods, during which everyone sprints all-out up and down the stairs while the cowbell rings.  Then back to “normal.” These redline periods happen less frequently than regular firedrills, but they’re hard as fuck.
  • No one died.  We won’t talk about how many people puked.
  • #Redline will now be called the “#RaceMan of Winter”–because it gives us the insanity of #RaceMan but gets us warmed up and keeps us going (to avoid the freeze/chill of stopping, that can be bad for our sprinting muscles).
  • Mat (with one t) “Whatchamacallit” Wecharatana took home the Positivity Award today, for all the right reasons. He’s awesome.

  • It’s getting colder, remember to dress in layers and prevent your fingers from becoming popsicles–wear gloves, mittens, mits, choppers, or socks on your hands (a la Coach Larry Anderson).  Just don’t be dumb about winter.
  • See previous bullet.  Be #weatherproof.
  • DECEMBER 1, The North Face is throwing NP Boston a winter themed FrostFit party.  6:30 pm.  This will involve a ridiculously sick workout followed by a social–(come to workout, hang with cool human beings, drink, and eat.)  Location hype is still very strong…STAY TUNED!
  • 5:30 group earns a group photo in the blog.  look.
