This morning I led my final workout as co-leader of November Project San Francisco. It was rather apt that it was on at a Friday Hills. The workout that solidified my love for NPSF those first few weeks in 2013. I love the simplicity of it. One hill to hammer up and down however well you can. By the end of 30 minutes, no-one knows how many reps everyone else has done. It doesn’t matter. But we’re all doing it together. Sweating. High-fiving. Suffering. Smiling.
Only fitting that this was a morning spent on the Batteries to Bluffs, one of the funnest single tracks that our city has to offer, surrounded by great friends new and old. Overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge – the tag we all wear on our #GrassrootsGear with pride. With the Marin Headlands in the distance, that trail playground where our Tribe welcomes the November Project World every November.
It’s been a wild ride these past few years with Laura, Dan, Zip and Ali. But now I’m excited to step back into the Tribe. To follow Zip, Ali and Tony around this spectacular playground we call home. To the many more special moments, friendships, hugs, trails to hammer and limitless fun and banter with the Tribe.
Upcoming events: Next Wednesday morning, June 20th, will be our annual Yearbook Photos Day. The theme will be the “Summer of Love”. Embrace your inner eclectic. Your psychedelia. Your free spirit. Your San Francisco.
Happy Hour tonight. Maggie McGarrys in North Beach from 6ish onwards. Live music. Flowing pints. Right what the doctor ordered. The craic will be 90! (Check this gold if you have no idea what I’m talking about). Oh and on the back of this morning’s fun fact Friday, here’s that song from this morning: “Lisdoonvarna”, a powerful number by Christy Moore. You may want to concentrate for this one:
And the match making festival itself (https://www.matchmakerireland.com/). Runs for all of the month of September every year. Not a dating app in sight.
Go raibh maith agaibh, mo chairde. Paddy amach. Slán!
