All Good Things Must Come to an End

All good things must come to an end – unless they are a marriage, motherhood, and salted cashews (because please, let me keep some joys in life). Jokes aside, which in times of sadness and moments of being uncomfortable you all know I can’t resist, it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to NP Amsterdam. Or at least, we say goodbye to the form or vessel of what we know and have come to know NP Amsterdam to be. read more

This Will Always Be The Group For Me

Six years ago I finished my first NYC Marathon. I trained alone, and decided I didn’t want that anymore. I wanted a team. A friend told me he had one for me.

On a cold January Monday in 2018, I got lost on my way to my first November Project workout. I got intercepted by a man with a goofy smile and boundless energy, something always present in group photos. And he would run me up the stairs to intercept a woman who I had admired from afar for a while, who I now call my big sister. read more

Did you say 6:30am? That could never be me…

Spring 2016: “There’s this thing called November Project that meets at Harvard stadium, do you want to go?” my roommate said to me as we laid across from each other in our twin sized beds. “What time?” I replied. As she scrolled her phone further, my roommate paused and read aloud “6:30am”. “That’s way too early, hell no” we both exclaimed as we looked at each other and turned over. read more

Ode to a friend – The Retirement of Dani

Friendship is defined as the state of being friends. It is not some grand meeting at the beginning  that measures and sustains a friendship but rather the time that exists in the mundane, in the ordinary. It is the state where you no longer exist in this universe alone but in relationship of mutual affection between two people. I found such a bond with Dani. read more
