People ask me all the time, “do you still love November Project?” “Do you still enjoy being a coleader?” “How do you keep getting up so early all the time?” and other variations of “are you still feeling it?” “It” being the vibe of positivity, of inspiration and motivation that often comes when someone first finds NP, starts to get involved (or hooked), and finds NP a stable, regular, even central part of their lives. The answer to all these questions is a confident and definitive YES. This morning’s workout is a perfect example why.
Today we met up in one of the more beautiful spots in the city, the North Point Park Island, which is on the east end of Cambridge, with a view of the Zakim Bridge, the water, and the sunrise. Our good friend Izzy VanHall (@izzyvanhall on IG) led us in an incredible–runner/stadium stair climber-focused flow–and hopefully we’re all a little more relaxed and refreshed to start the week as a result of it! I love that we still find and explore new spaces in the city. I love that we can do unique and fun things like yoga for a destination deck. And I love that Izzy and YogaWorks (which has several yoga studios in Boston) are helping the members of November Project continue to get all the fierce fitness and the chill fitness we can. We can now wear GrassrootsGear (NP tagged shirts) to any of the YogaWorks studios and get the NP discount of $10/class instead of the regular $18/class. SERIOUSLY? yup. This shit still excites me.

And then I get a message from a tribe member whose 80 year old mom has been showing up to NP workouts in Boston for the last month. This 80 year old mom who lives in Florida and has been so inspired by the fitness and the community that she’s seen and experienced and been welcomed into at NP, that she’s headed back to Florida to start up a yoga group in the retirement community she lives in. SERIOUSLY? yeahhhhh, that’s what NP was about in the very first place–just finding a little inspiration to get our bodies moving…and to keep them moving even when it’s cold & dark, even when there are lots of excuses. This new NP-loving fitness mama who’s going to Florida has been reminded that she’s not too old, and she’s inspired.
And that is the shit that keeps inspiring me day after day. After all this time. I’m most definitely still feeling it.
update on the #tattooverbal challenge
We have just crossed the 31,000 sections mark and the tribe is strong. Keep plugging away and TRACK YOUR SECTIONS! If you did some over the weekend and haven’t entered them yet, put them in. If you did some today, put them in. Whatever you do, just write them down and do it HERE. Just remember this: Friends don’t let friends do sections without putting them in the google sheet!
On Wednesday make sure that you either add your sections to the google sheet or write them on the clipboards that Joev Dubach is managing. Let’s keep going!!
THE TRIBE IS STRONG. THE TRIBE IS BENDY. THE TRIBE IS KICKING ASS.
