For all the weird shit we do, we put in some work.
That’s what makes this tribe special. We have that SoCal cool, we-don’t-give-a-fu*k attitude. So we can laugh at ourselves and do fucking weird shit, like gyrate in place to open up those hips, stretch your jaw to prevent some major lockjaw while you’re grinding up some hills, and or give each other uncomfortable hugs…
But between all that weird, we put in some serious work.
This morning was HARD. I saw some of our fastest runners struggle and walk just as much as some of our not-as-fast runners. Hell, I threw up a little in my mouth. But that may have been the 2 beers I got hammered on last night.
What are we talking about?
Reset.
The most inspiring part about all of this is seeing familiar faces come over and over again, and to see SO MANY new faces who I know will become more and more familiar.
Other leaders or core NPers may disagree, but for me, the biggest reason why we do this is to connect people who under normal circumstances may have never met, and to help you all take yourself just a little less seriously. It’s about building and supporting your community.
With a large side of getting your ass WHOOPED.
