Since When Did Paddy Become The Most Reliable Leader? (SF)

You know 2017 is going to be a weird year when at 6:29 AM Paddy is the only leader at the start of the workout.

This morning both Josh and I missed our alarms, which resulted in a full on panic attack wake up call when I realized it was 6:26 and I was still curled up in bed. Remember in middle school when you missed the bus and your parents would shamefully drive you in to school and scold you the entire way about how they were now going to be late for work? I was determined to get there by 6:29 to avoid the Paddy scolding that would inevitably happen for the rest of my existence. Luckily, it was too dark for people to notice the deep pillow lines on my face and retainer still in my mouth (just kidding, I would never go out in public with that thing) and I seemed to get away with it scot free. But where was Josh?

After Paddy led the most anti-climatic bounce in NPSF history, I scanned the crowd and didn’t see our birthday boy. Zip turned 28 yesterday and went out for an aggressive night of pizza and trampoline dodgeball the night before. Did Zip have one too many cokes and awaken in a sugar coma? We’ve all been there, my friend. At 6:48 AM Zip joined the workout like he had been there the entire time, high-fiving people as they ran up the hill, cheering people on for their laborious effort. The only people that noticed Zip and I were late were…Zip and I. Oh, and Paddy. Apparently the only leader who has their shit together. Could it be possible that I am inflating his already teased out head of hair? Probably.

To Zip, we hope you had an amazing birthday and enjoyed the extra 20 minutes of sleep this morning!

To Jennifer Micieli, we are sorry we didn’t make a bigger deal about your move this morning! We so quickly get distracted by large Christmas trees and yelling to get people out of the road. But the tribe will very much miss your warmth, overall adorableness and sarcasm. When Paul Leak inevitably drives you nuts, come back to us. Ask Pete Kruse, you really CAN go home again.

Monday: Fort Mason, 6:24 AM.
