Well, what a morning it was y’all!
Police cars. Sirens. 18 wheelers zooming by. A “suspicious package”. A closed thoroughfare!
I mean, it was a lot for Monday at 6am.
If you’ve been around entrepreneurs at all this year and a half, you’ve heard the word pivot. A lot.
I spend all day, everyday supporting entrepreneurs (a discussion for another day or just come ask me) and yeah, that word has come up like a million times a day from March 2020 to present time.
Well, WE ALL were in a position to have to pivot this morning.
With little certain, not much information, and like a handful of us at 5:58am (a giant fuck ya to those of you who still showed up part way through a 30 min workout + those who tried to get to us and weren’t able to – *updated*), Rob and I had to quickly form another plan near the Talus Dome this AM. Not at the Talus Dome as planned… near it. But kinda far away in case that suspicious package was bad news.
It reminded me of that morning at Commonwealth stadium a few years back when we couldn’t get into the stadium. Were you there? Remember Jen and Nadim (on a rainy morning, I believe) had to quickly come up with Plan B outside of the stadium doors? I mean, that was an epic morning to remember! And, obviously, it was just as fun as every other NP morning. Wow- those two are amazing.
Sometimes, really unexpected, awesome things come from a sudden pivot. For me, this morning gave us not only a different workout but also some conversations that I’m not sure would have happened if we were in a different formation.
And this also happened…

I love embracing uncertain, unfamiliar things that pop up. It pushes me out of my comfort zone (which I’d prefer to not be in TBH) and helps me think outside a box. This is part of how personal growth happens for me…. which I never want to stop doing.
See ya Wednesday!

I was stuck on the other side of the bridge. I ran from my house but the police wouldn’t let me cross. I had to go for a solo run. Next time.
