Today I was bestowed the POSITIVITY AWARD. Above are the names of the people who have received the award before me.
Now here I am, sitting on my couch, staring at the oar handle which has been symbolically fashioned into an award, wondering what the hell to write about. Then it hit me.
I’m honored. I’m speechless. But I’m not alone.
The oar handle represents the team spirit -the difference between rowing alone and having two or ten or a hundred others in your boat. Without the people above or all of the people in the future who will receive this award, there would be no boat to row. Without them, there would be no sweaty hug to give, no cheer to shout, or “fuck yeah” to scream. There would be no “us”.
I don’t know about anyone else, but before November Project, I had no passion behind my workouts. My runs were fueled by the number on my scale and the reflection the mirror. Now when I workout, even when I’m alone, my fuel is you. It’s your morning chant, it’s your heavy breathing behind me as we run up the stairs, it’s your sweaty after-workout hugs, and your neon shorts and crazy winged shoes that give me reason to work my ass off.
We are a team. I mean, yes we are a workout group, but it’s not just that. We wouldn’t go anywhere without each other. We couldn’t . And that is what means the most to me!
We are happy. We are strong. We are bright! We are NP SD! Row on!Share via socials:
