NP_ATL is coming back in-person! PLEASE READ!

It’s been a tough year for all of us feels like an understatement. Many of us have gone through some sort of change in the past 14 months since we’ve last met in person –  financial, emotional, mental | location, relationships, health | ways of communication, habits, hobbies – or all of the above.

And as eager as we are to return to some semblance of normalcy, we want to be careful in the way we do so. We want to lay down some ground rules before we jump back in to in-person workouts. Here goes:

  1. November Project Waiver – everyone attending a workout will have to sign the waiver before you participate. It’s ideal to sign the waiver before coming to the workout, but you can also sign up right before the workout starts in case you forget. If you don’t have access to the electronic waiver, please reach out and let us know. We will be checking and will not be able to allow anyone who hasn’t signed the waiver to join in. Click HERE or use the QR Code.
  • Masks – to make sure that we are creating as inclusive and comfortable of an environment as possible, we are asking that everyone be masked (nose and mouth covered) at the beginning and end of the workout, when we are most likely to be closer together as a group. You don’t have to wear a mask during the workout if you don’t want to.
  • Physical Distancing – we are going to ask everyone to stay 6 feet (2 meters) or more apart as we workout. We will be looking at workout areas where we have room to spread out for stationary exercises as well as wider running paths.
  • Kindness – please be aware of another’s comfortability levels when it comes to these protocols. Also, we hope that you will feel comfortable in speaking up if you don’t feel comfortable. You can always talk to Stein and Winnie at the workout to let us know.

Okay, workouts are also going to look a little different for now. Here are some changes:

  1. Bounce – instead of the super close bounce of NP past, we are going to be experimenting with a more spread out bounce and other ways to warmup/hype up before the workout.
  2. Hugs and High Fives – since we are working on physical distancing, maybe think of  elbow taps, air high fives, etc. As usual, check in on someone’s comfort level and don’t make assumptions.
  3. Partner moves – no partner or small group moves for now. We want to be cautious as we come back.
  4. Location – as we mentioned above, we’re going to be looking at different places we can workout where we can spread out. This might mean moving around to different parts of the city, which could be exciting as well as more inclusive to those who are not as close to Midtown.

Alright, now for the fun part! A couple of things to look forward to in June!

  1. Wednesday, June 2 – Global Running Day! In lieu of a workout that morning, we are teaming up with Front Runners Atlanta for an evening run! Check out the facebook event HERE. We’ll be meeting at John Howell Park at 6:30 pm and run for about 45 min or so!
  2. We plan to start in-person workouts once a week on Wednesdays starting June 9th. We will meet at the Charles Allen Gate (off 10th Street) in Piedmont Park and go to the workout location on Oak Hill from there.
  3. Zoomies – never fear! We plan to do a hybrid – zoom/in-person workout for the month of June on Wednesdays as well. More information to come!

Additional Housekeeping:

  1. We also want to start highlighting running groups and free running events in town. So we’ve created a calendar with some options. If you want to add a run/event, let us know. Click HERE!
  2. We know you’re familiar with this, but it doesn’t hurt in this new year to remind you all of the Community Agreements for November Project.
  3. We look forward to seeing you all in June whether in person or on zoom! Please feel free to reach out to Stein or Winnie if you have any questions and/or concerns. Anonymous feedback can always be left HERE.

Love, Stein and Winnie
