NP Loves Giving Back

We can all agree that #NPlovesAZ has been a rousing success, generating tremendous buzz around our community and connecting with local businesses.

November Project has deemed September “#NPgivesback month,” for which we’d like to take at least some of the credit. To that end, we’re aligning #NPlovesAZ with #NPgivesback by asking that you help us continue to make Phoenix a better place by donating your time or skills. Post a photo to social media using both hashtags, and you will be entered into our September drawing for TNF gear.

Donate Goods

  • Find a local charity. Lavish them with monetary donations or your used goods.
  • Suggestion: Practical Art hosts a charity pie night each month, which has raised more than $40,000 since inception. This month’s event is an ice cream social happening Friday, September 22, and benefits Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

Donate Time

  • Leverage your expertise in (insert field here) to volunteer. Are you a strapping young lad? Help build a house. Adept at caring for others? Ryan House is right up your alley.

Serve/Mentor

  • Are you good a mathlete? Our schools need you. McDonald’s paid for college? Serve dinner at a local homeless shelter.

Get Out and Make a Difference

  • Our community could use some beautification. Plant a tree. Walk some dogs. Sweep the Papago Park amphitheater stairs.

We served up a full tournament’s worth of drills for your workout pleasure this morning. Despite missing our resident tennis expert, Steve Gilliam, we nonetheless hosted the inaugural NP Phoenix Open on the red clay of the Papago Park amphitheater. We kicked off our activities by lobbing tennis balls with exercises written in sharpie. The lucky recipients paired up for a quick doubles match, after which they were volleyed to someone else. Naturally, the stairs supplied the necessary activity to keep the tribe invigorated between sets, which admittedly caused quite a racket. Regardless, I can’t help but love the exuberance on display this morning. This shit is good.
