Hi November Project Ottawa community, the individuals who make this thing roll, who have gone through the pledging, welcoming to the NP global fam, the growth, the ebbs and flows, those who attend weekly, every once in a while, those who no longer attend, those who have contributed to the learning, the changes along the way, everything in between, and who are contributing to the movement forward. We have always used the blog to continue communication with all of you, and will continue to share our thoughts along the way. We also want to bring in more of your ideas and ways to better this community.
Two weeks ago, we shared a survey that had many great takeaways… themes, if you will. Thank you again for taking the time you did to complete those. There were some wonderful things about your experience, and we so appreciate hearing how NP has positively impacted your lives. There are also some areas we need to improve on. We are aware of some of these gaps, but it has been important to listen to what you see as gaps as well. We may not be able to completely eliminate the gaps, but we believe we can narrow them, together with you. We appreciated your thoughts because it helps give us considerations, things to acknowledge and some great suggestions. We also recognize some of the limitations of who this survey reaches and the bias that it creates. But, we can still take steps towards making this community better.
We, Liz and Lauren, recognize we don’t have all the answers, we make mistakes and we are constantly humbled by the responsibility that this community holds. We also recognize that it is not the two of us alone that make this community the space that it is. It is all of us together who create the norms, and create a safe space to gather to move and connect. One way we want to address some of the gaps is to actually gather some of the brain power to find solutions and ways to actually implement these solutions. So, our plan this week is to send out another survey- this one focuses on ways we could bring those ideas together to collaborate and ways to get involved. So, if you choose to participate, and there is no obligation to do so, we have put some ideas in place about ways to get involved with NP, and we will continue to converse with you about how we can keep things rolling.
