This morning, Austin Frion showed up to Bascom Hill for a typical Wednesday morning of crushing hills. After the workout, he did something a little different. Instead of going home and heading off to work, Austin is RUNNING to Milwaukee. Running to November Project Milwaukee’s Friday workout to be exact. He is running right now, as I am writing this, as you are reading this on your lunch break or procrastinating at work. He’s probably still running if you are reading this after dinner tonight. It’s pretty crazy and pretty cool and we are super HYPED for his journey. But this isn’t just some long run for shits and giggles. Austin has an awesome story behind his journey to becoming a runner and inspiration for this trek from MSN to MKE. Take a read and send some positive thoughts to him in Wisconsin.
Hey kids, so many of have have caught wind of my upcoming endeavor. For those of you who don’t know, I’m running from NP MSN Bascom workout to NP MKE workout this week. It’s caught some attention and I’d like to share the why with you.
Two and a half years ago I started running. I had hit rock bottom. I called a court ordered rehabilitation center home and could not run for a mile if I tried (which I did and failed day after day). I needed to make a serious change in my life. Running became my answer.
I ran my first 5k since high school that spring. Then my first half marathon ever. Progress was happening. By the following summer I was ready for my first 50k. And that’s where it all got rolling. During my 50k I had the pleasure of racing my last few miles with this guy named Brogan that was shouting and yelling and cheering me all the way to the finish. He never mentioned november project, just gave me a great big hug at the finish line. It was only by chance I discovered NP a month later while out on a run ( Thank you Randy for not letting me pass by) and was hooked.

Fast forward to the day before the North Face endurance challenge, it’s dark, it’s wet, it’s 6a.m., and I’m again being hollered at by that same Brogan guy ( from out his car window). This time he knew my name , from just the one brief meeting months earlier. I knew then that np was not just a fad but somewhere I needed to be.
Now I’m running from madison to milwaukee, a new distance and new goal for me. I chose to run to another NP workout in an attempt to show my appreciation for what NP does for me. For what Nicole and Moriah do for us every week. For what all of you do for me week after week. November Project reassures me over and over that I’m not running away anymore, but towards something good. And this shit is good.

Austin, you have a gift for running and running fast! I am so happy that you found running, found NP, and found yourself in the process! Keep it up and keep on sharing your story so that you can pay it forward!
Proud of you, Austin!

What a great story dude. Love it and keep the energy forward.
5:40 pm and he’s almost to Waukesha. Tired but still going strong!
Oh cousin of mine….I knew you were a running fool but I had NO IDEA WHY. If you ever get a bug in your pants to come to California, you have a place to stay 🙂
