We showed up in the quiet before sunrise to cruise a lap — or, for speedsters, laps — around the dark, glassy lake with high expectations for another breathtaking Wednesday morning. Upon finishing our conversational jog with those conscious enough to talk before coffee, we reconvened at our normal meet spot, greeted two police cars parked nearby (they were fortunately not there for anticipated noise complaints; though, unfortunately for them, they couldn’t join our workout today), and we set up our station-rotation workout with marking the sidewalks in chalk and readying shirts and spray-paint for tagging #grassrootsgear. Then we proceeded to yell mushy mush pot. No story there.
You showed up. You gave no excuses. It was a burning 90-degrees F. We burpee’d and Bojan’ed. It was literally 93% humidity. You spent a day of your FL vacation to drive 3-hours to #traverbal from Montréal, Quebec. You volunteered to be paint crew. You brought a puppy. You fiercely and merrily powered through a tough workout. It was before the sun rose. You showed up.
I don’t know about you all, but I could wring out moistness* from my shirt after the workout and all I did was prance around and take pics. When our Canadian traverbalers tried explaining that they sometimes do their workouts on ice several inches thick. I don’t even know.
