Listen Up! Harvard Parking 2017

We LOVE Harvard Stadium and for those of us who park there, there’s new info!

What has not changed:

  1. We still have to park in spots marked “visitor” (not GORD permit spots).
  2. We still have to pay for the time we park in spots.
  3. You can still choose how you pay for your parking:
    • meter boxes on site ($1.25/hour, just as you have been)
    • pre-pay permits through Harvard Parking (see below)
  4. We still GET TO be kind human beings who respect the space we use, which we do not own!

Also, don’t forget your options:

  • we can stop driving to the stadium.  (which is a good idea if you can run, bike, walk, or take public transportation.)
  • we can park elsewhere! (there is plenty of free parking in Allston along the streets — any metered spots are free before 8am. And there are crews of people who are using parking lots at the parks very nearby and doing a healthy .5 mile run to the stadium as a warm up. Join these people!)
  • we can carpool and reduce the number of vehicles actually entering into Harvard. (Hell, meet at a spot and park many cars for free, then load everyone into one car that is permitted)

What HAS changed:

  1. There is a new online system for purchasing monthly permits. Everyone who wants to purchase a monthly pass should use the new system.  Step-by-step directions for monthly permits below.

2. You can now purchase an annual pass for $100 (cheaper than 12 x monthly permits), but you must do this in person at the Harvard Parking Office, which is a part of the Campus Service Center.  Note that the annual pass starts/ends in June, so if you buy one now it will be pro-rated for the last 2ish months, then you can go back and get a new one for June 2017-2018.

TO GET A MONTHLY PERMIT ($10/month)

YOU ARE NOW PURCHASING A PERMIT FOR WEBSTER FIELD (not Gordon lot). There is an area of the parking lot that is now only accessible through gates, and our monthly pass will open the gates when you scan the bar code that prints out on the permit. This means monthly permit holders should only park in the Webster Field lot, behind the access gates.

  1. Go to the FlexPort system to purchase a permit.
  2. Scroll down to “Get Permits”

3. Log in as a Guest.  You’ll have to register in the system to do so.

4. Select “Buy Daily Permits”

5. This page will prompt you to select dates: pick the first upcoming Wednesday you need to park as your start date. (it will be valid for 1 month from that date)

6. Select “Webster Field” from the drop down menu.

7. Click the button for Webster Field Lot/ MONTHLY

8. Add/Select your vehicle info for the permit.

9. Finish and check out, per standard online payment procedures.

10. PRINT YOUR PERMIT.  Don’t forget to print.  Like, hit print and print that shit.  Then get it from the printer and put it in your vehicle.

Any questions? EmSauce will try to help you out.
