Level Up (LAX)

It’s a very well documented fact that I am a proud nerd. I love video games. Star Wars and I have what you call a “more than friends” kind of relationship. That’s the way it’s been since I was a little kid, and it’s the way it always will be.

This means I also love to gamify my workouts. I’m always keeping an eye on my score whenever I’m in that indoor cycling studio that rhymes with “Triwheel”, and I keep track of certain strava segments and always push to topple the previous record I had held on it. Sure it’s extra motivation, but it’s also really fun to push yourself through a game and see just how far you’ve come.

Enter the LvL UP Challenge: A multi-leveled affair in the B-Lot rife with 6 different strength stops and a whole butt ton of running. I will be the first to say this shit is NOT easy, but there’s accomplishment in getting up and going after a challenge like this. Every time you finished a level for the third time, you beat it. It’s done and in your past, and you can move on to the next challenge.

That’s part of the reason I love video games so much. Once you beat a level, it’s onto the next one. Once you beat an entire game, you either move onto the next one or start it again to see how much better you can do it. Maybe at a higher difficulty this time. Just like November Project, the challenge is in what you make of it. So for all of you that showed up and threw down, you won the game today. And I’m very glad you’re here.

Do great, LA
