A few weeks ago, we announced that we had scored some free bibs for the Baltimore Running Festival that we wanted to gift to the tribe. These bibs can be used for ANY race at the festival, which is a pretty sweet deal. Sometimes when we give away things, we do it pretty arbitrarily. But this time, we wanted to see how creative the tribe could get. And thus was born #KNOTTYNP. The gist of this contest was to get a photo of yourself using your running shoes in inappropriate places. That’s it! The rest was up to you.
Nine of you embraced the challenge (seriously, only nine? Out of 150+ of you, only nine didn’t want to pay to run a race? I need to start hanging out with you all more if you have money to throw around like that. What are you all doing next weekend? Wanna fly me to Tahiti? Ah fuck it, I digress.) It wasn’t easy, but from those entries we chose three winners. Your winners of the 2016 #KNOTTYNP photo contest are…….
1. LA Finfinger
Holy shit! Did LA hire a professional photographer for this photo? Is Gio cheating on us? Did LA just spend more money on making this photo straight fire than she would have on just buying a bib? We’ll never know. If my running shoes are any indication of how bad those things can smell, then I have mad respect for this woman for popping some bubbly into hers. This was surely inappropriate, so LA, congrats on your entry into the Baltimore Running Festival!
2. 0ldbae, aka Tammy!
There are a lot of symbols in this photo that I’m pretty sure translate as “yo, this shit is dangerous. Don’t mess around with it.” Tammy saw those signs and clearly didn’t care. It’s no coincidence that the sign in the photo is made by a company called JUSTRITE, because this photo was just right enough to be our second winner in the contest! Congrats Tammy!
3. Lewis aka Alanna

“Do any of these come in my size?” #KnottyNP #NationalDogDay #Lewis ???????? Note: Excessive quantities of peanut butter used in the making of this photo. @charmcityrun @novemberprojectbmore by @ajsheaphoto
This one is a tough one. Who’s the real winner here? Do we give the bib to lovable Lewis or his equally lovable owner, Alanna? Lewis definitely has the energy to get through a half marathon, but may not have the attention span. We’ll just give the bib to Alanna and let her figure it out. If she decides to let Lewis run, let’s hope it goes better than the time that Jasper, who belongs to NP_BAL legend Andrea Staid, wore booties for the first time. Congrats Alanna!
Thank you to all who participated in the contest! For those of you who didn’t but are still thinking about running, use the code “NovemberProjectBmore” (case-sensitive) to sign up at a discounted rate. If you aren’t running, stay tuned for some details regarding the after-party, with special guests from NPDC and NP_PHL.
Happy Laboring,
Pat
