Bill is my go-to-guy when I am pitching November Project Canada to people. Like many of you who have tried recruiting friends, colleagues, family, or the guys next to you on the LRT, I often receive the following responses: “Oh, I’m too old” or “Oh, I’m not fit enough” or “Oh, I don’t want to be the slowest”. To those and many other excuses/polite rejections, I bring up Bill.

When I grow up I want to be just like Bill.
I want to be getting up at ungodly hours on Wednesday mornings post-retirement to hug and high 5 a hundred people just like Bill.
I want to take care of my body now so that 40 years from now I can walk stairs for 30 minutes just like Bill.
I want to bring a smile to the face of others and spread joy to a community simply by being present just like Bill.
I want to be a part of a community I am so committed and connected to, that I nothing, not even bruised ribs, will keep me away from long hips-in-hugs.
I want to share and celebrate my 88th birthday surrounded by a community of diverse, positive, kind, passionate, dedicated human beings who look to me for inspiration and motivation just like Bill.
Thank you Bill for choosing to #justshowup and for showing us that age simply doesn’t matter!
Thank you lululemon for all the vibes today! Cheer squad, high 5s, tunes, cookies & hot chocolate…you know how to do it right!
Thank you Mother Nature for the incredible weather today – that thermocline on the stairs was crazy! I think the temperature increased by at least 5 degrees in that middle section.
And finally, thank you NP Canada tribies for being the absolute best people to spend the morning with. Today’s energy was top notch…you tackled those stairs, crushed the pushups and situps, and those burpees were first class. Thank you for showing up each and every morning!

Friday – Walterdale Hill
- We will be tagging #grassrootsgear.
- Bring 1 top bright coloured as we spray with black spray paint only on the front.
PS: To our newbie Rowen…What I asked you today was, “Is it your birth-day?” not “Is it your first-day?”…don’t worry, it has happened to the best of us…ummmm…ok that’s not true, it has actually never happened before but we forgive you. You handled it like a pro! See you Friday? (that’s me recruiting a #verbal)

Until next time…SMILE! J
