What a great way to start a week. I’ve recently gotten back from a trip to New York City and after trying to get some piles of laundry done and prep for work, the Sunday gloomies were creeping in. What snapped me out of that funk was planning today’s workout with Eric. Thinking of ways we could incorporate an Aprils fools day prank which led to hilarious laughter but we decided against them (don’t worry we kept the ideas and we got plans for next year – you have been warned lol) and Eric being mean having written out some high reps for each egg. It was just the distraction I needed. By the time the alarm clock hit I was rested and looking forward to the day. It was a lot of fun to see everyone just enjoying being outside and having a good time. Some random observations:
- Isn’t it funny how Easter changes throughout the month each year – today was pitch black, years ago it was sunny and warm, even longer than that I remember tons of snow
- I got pranked myself – not knowing what Eric had actually written down one of my teammates said we had to do 1000 pushups I screamed out to Eric from across the park saying he was being mean but actually we only had to do 100 cumulatively – Mary got me hook line and sinker
- Cindy on my team was so fast at math! Speedy division skillz!!
- one of the workouts was to do a lap of the soccer field and as I teased another team for having to do that while we continued hunting for eggs karma got me good and my team got the exact same instruction on the next egg – serves me right haha
- the egg race at the end was 100% to waste some time while Eric and I counted eggs to determine a winner. Honestly I had not idea if the path I sent you on even looped back to us haha. But it was pretty entertaining hearing the giggles while you raced all together with everyone person having to touch the same spoon
As a sit here with my cat (who had been glued to me all day – I like to think she missed me) I am happy and I am reminded that amazing humans make me happy.
