It is with great pride that I say Happy Birthday November Project New York City! I want to take this moment to reflect on the past 5 years (a half decade, that is crazy!). I have been a part of this group for about 4.5 of those 5 years. It is interesting to see how this group has evolved, some of the personalities that have come through it, some of the experiences we have had. It has been quite the ride to be sure.
I owe a lot to this group, I have seen waves of people come and go, and I try to take a little something away from each of those interactions or relationships or whatever you would like to call them. I think what I have genuinely loved the most from them, is the consistency (yes, even through the varying people and personalities) that this group has provided for being exactly what was needed at any given moment. If that has meant picking me up when I was down, encouraging me when I felt weak, celebrating triumphs, and pushing me to reach new limits when I felt strong, this tribe has been able to provide for me (and I am sure others) exactly what was needed at any given moment.
I love thinking back to the “good ol’ days” of this tribe. I cannot wait to see where it goes in the future. Over the past five years we have seen highs and lows alike. We have celebrated PR’s, we have felt the anguish of cramps. Through our best days and our worst, this tribe has shown up. This tribe’s best days are ahead, not in the rear-view. The tribe is strong.
Thanks for being here.
