Exciting Times (YEG)

During the workout, I noticed a bunch of ornaments hanging from the trees at the bottom of Walterdale Hill. They all had a tag that said “Please take me”. I thought it was a very thoughtful thing from some very thoughtful people. It wasn’t until after the photo, when someone showed me their ornament and written on it, was #justshowup. That’s when I realized that it was some sneaky elves who did that for their NP friends. Hopefully, you were able to grab one and see some of the encouraging messages written on them. To those who created them (I won’t spill your secret), THANK YOU! The group thanks you!

As we get ready to close out 2019, I want to make sure we don’t lose focus on one of the most exciting things to come out of November Project this year. While we probably spend most of our time thinking about when and where the next #NPSUMMIT is, this past year, we created something that is far more important: Community Agreements.

None of this is breaking news or something completely unexpected. In fact, it is filled with things that were just assumed. But instead of living in a bit of a grey area, it was time we wrote everything down. If you ask me, this has been long overdue. And with the current state of politics, Hollywood and sports, I’m glad this is here and is stated for everyone. This past summer in Seattle, leaders from all NP cities collaborated and agreed upon the 6 community agreements to make sure everyone is on the same page when it comes to expectations. These agreements are not just for the co-leaders, but also for our participants both at the workout and in our online communities.

Here’s our friend from Minneapolis, Nat, explaining them.

You can also read them right here.
