Excitement, #150k, and Injury

Yes. I said it this morning. I’m going to say it again. Listen to your bodies. Most of us are doing more sections than we ever have before–in a day, in a week, in a month. All of that extremely intensive on your body, and (unless you’re Scott Gilroy–fuck it–even if you are Scott Gilroy, you know what? Especially SG) I want you, YES YOU, to go grab your roller/lacross ball/recovery roll/etc.* and spend 10 minutes with it right now.

I’ll wait.

Mmmmm. Wasn’t that better?!? Thought so. You can thank me later.

Our tribe is strong AF. Records are getting slashed, both fastest [insert some stadium workout here], and people’s Personal Records (PRs if you’ve been paying attention). I’ve heard and overheard so many folks at the last two wednesdays say “That’s the most I’ve ever done.” Fuckin’ fuck yeah! That literally makes me run around like this. But it’s vital that we’re all paying attention to our bodies, and stretching/yoging/rolling and taking it slow and steady. 150,000 isn’t going to happen overnight. Only with steady, persistent, healthy training will we make it. As a group. If everyone get’s hurt this month I’ll look more like this, and nobody wants that**. So be smart. Train slow, train hard. And listen to your body.

We’ve all felt the FOMO when not healthy, so use that as a motivator to stay healthy.

For the sections you DO do (hahaha. doodoo), track them here!

We’ll see you Friday for some PR hills.

Much Love,
– C. Payne

*What? You don’t have one at work?! Cool. On your lunch break, go find one at a sporting good store. Don’t have time? Hit up amazon. There ya go. Just type it in that top search space. Boom. Ordered. Now you have one for work.
**Also FYI/TMI my frogsuit smells absolutely foul after all the sweat that’s poured into it this month. Apparently there’s this thing called a washing machine? Anyone heard of it?

The thing we need to remember–to always keep in mind is that the  most important piece of all of this is staying healthy.
