Brace yourselves. This is our first official blog post and I (Shelby) am writing it, so you know it’s going to get a little off track. I’m going get a little selfish with this first one but it’s only because a lot of stuff hit me at the same time this morning, and I’m vibing in the best way. They won’t all be this sappy.
The energy was high this morning – like it is most Wednesday’s. But this one felt particularly high. The smiles seemed a little wider. The hugs felt a little tighter, and that bounce… It felt great to get that loud. Pretty sure all of Portland heard us screaming. The positivity was almost tangible – like you could reach out and touch the excitement. And of course, RPS Championship 3.0 was a complete success.

Maybe it’s that early 5 AM sunshine getting to our heads. Or maybe it’s the fact that it’s Global Running Day and we got on the NEWS without even trying. (Everybody check Fox 12 at some point today. Curious to see how they handle our #FuckYeah’s) Or maybe it’s that Gail and Tim’s workout kicked our asses this morning and I’m still high on the endorphins. (Thanks for stepping in and coming up with a killer workout, you two!)
Whatever it is, this has been an incredible month. On May 17th, we became an official November Project tribe. THEN, last week I got to go back to where November project started for me: San Diego. Bouncing with that tribe and sharing that workout with them in La Jolla Cove is something I’ll be daydreaming about for a while. Shout out to my picnic table seal crew.

And as if all this November Project awesomeness isn’t enough… Tonight, it’s off to where it all began for 5UMMIT.
BOSTON. The Mecca. The Mothership. THE Harvard Stadium.
Oh, wait, excuse me, THE HAH-vuhd stadium. (WATCH THIS VIDEO. DO IT!)
This is all happening so fast but I guess what I’m trying to say is that I feel honored and privileged (and a little overwhelmed in the best way possible) to be part of all of this. I’m committed to this movement and sharing it with as many people as possible because I know firsthand the potential power of this community.
If you know my story, you know that November Project saved me during a pretty rough period in my life. It gave me a community where I felt genuinely appreciated and a group of friends I could turn to whenever I needed their support. When I moved to Portland, I thought I’d be paying that forward by starting a tribe with Keeley. I thought we’d be giving more people that same feeling of belonging and the care that I experienced in San Diego. If we could pass that positivity forward, we’d be doing a great thing. And while that IS happening, I have to be completely honest and say that November Project is still saving ME at the same time. I look forward to Every Single Wednesday I get to spend with you all. This Tribe – November Project PDX – is some real good shit, and it’s only going to continue to get better.
As you probably noticed, I didn’t give out the Positivity Award this morning – not because none of you deserved it, but because all of you deserved it. And it didn’t feel right picking just one.
Happy Wednesday. See you all in two weeks.
LOVE,
Shelby
