Birthday BOOM! (LAX)

Six years ago on this very day, two extremely tall gentlemen took to the streets of Boston and began working out together at an ungodly hour. They made a promise to each other to do it every day for the month of November. There were some guidelines: they had to work out outside, in the early morning, absolutely no flaking, always on time, and although there were no guarantees of fun, or silliness, or that anything magical would occur….

Six years later we all gathered at Griffith Observatory while it was still too dark to make out anyone’s faces, and we ran up two of the toughest trails known to mankind, and we hugged, and we loved one another, we burpeed until our arms were ready to give out, and we left with grins on our faces.

Because of that promise made between those hooligans, extraordinary people have come into my life. Maggie Walsh slammed out her first double today with a big smile on her face the whole time. Leah ran up the Dirty Widow (Dirty B*tch + the Widowmaker, thank Matt Davis for suggesting that monster) and refused to give up on herself from start to finish. Jenna CRUSHED the Dirty Widow with strength and confidence. We got to hear people we had just met sing their first and last names with a beautiful and original musicality. I left with my heart brimming full of love for everyone that shed sweat out there today, and I can say with confidence that something magical occurred 6 years ago and that something magical will occur every Wednesday and Friday morning for 6 more years, and 6 more after that. Happy birthday, November Project. BOOM!!!!!!!!!!
