Bedtime Rhymes (Ottawa)

Okay, okay – I know it’s late
I’m sorry to have made you wait
The thoughts and feelings in my mind
Took some time to search and find

Another week gone, and this one – my last
For a new arrival is coming in fast
And while I enjoy penning each rhyme
I think I may soon not find the time

So please enjoy this verse tonight
It’s an easy read, breezy and light
Just a quick summary of a wonderful morning
With some cheesy one liners (consider this your warning)

Rewind to this AM when we were all together
In the early morning sun and the mild weather
The Museum of Nature: our meeting spot
The main exhibit: its parking lot

We dino stomped and hopped like a bunny
And sure, some of us might have looked kinda funny
We jumped up and yelled, “I’m a star!”
And attempted bear crawls that went way too far

Hakuna Matata played on the speakers
While cheetahs sprinted with speedy sneakers
And don’t forget – the burnout so wild
Inspired by the one and only – Destiny’s Child

More smiles and coffee at 7 AM
Then counting the days until we do it again
Something about this routine that never gets old
Whether we’re sweating through summer or braving the cold

While I’m excited for the changes that lie ahead
I have so enjoyed the Wednesdays I co-led
I can’t wait for you all to meet our new addition
And welcome them in with no terms or conditions

I suppose I don’t have much else to say…
Just be nice to Rebecca while I’m away
Maybe help out with a guest lead (or two)
You’ll see it’s quite a fun thing to do!

I sure hope to be back in no time at all
By spring… or summer… or maybe the fall?
Until then, enjoy each squat, lunge, and jog
And ALWAYS remember to go pet a dog!

Sole-fully,
Rebecca & Becca
