What will 2018 bring?
Maybe it’s a new goal or resolution, maybe it’s a new job or new challenge at work or school, maybe it’s a new relationship or a whole new human altogether (shout out to all those NPBabyMommas out there). Funny thing is… We have no idea what 2018 may bring, but that’s life. We keep on living and grinding, one day at a time. But who says we need a new integer at the end of the date to dictate when it’s time to “restart”, “reboot”, “renew”, “redo”, “retry” and “resolve“? Truthfully, we don’t.
But what we do need to remember is that tomorrow is another day in the 365 that twenty-eighteen will bring. And each new day, whether it’s in 2018 or 2019 or 2047, is another chance to do what you haven’t done before, say what you’ve been meaning to say, try the things that scare you, smile a little bit longer, curse a little bit louder, and live a little bit better. You don’t need a new year to do those things. You just need you.
But when you don’t feel like you’ve got it within you to push yourself to new limits, I’m here to remind you that the collective “we” will always be here. To live each day to its fullest. To run stairs, hills, mountains, and tracks. To race miles and 5Ks and marathons and ultras. To high five and hug, write letters, send texts, share memories, and show support through tragedies. To just show up.
This year, we may only have 53 Mondays, 52 Wednesdays and 52 Fridays to show up and sweat. But more importantly, we have another 365 days to just show up in life.
So I’m here to ask ya one thing. Whatever your resolutions or goals for 2018 may be, what are you going to do today and the next 364 days to make sure you’re living each day to the fullest, showing up for yourself and for each other?
Go Win Your Day,
