Heading into the new year, Clayton and I have a lot to work on. One of the top things that *should* be on our list is to start thinking before we speak. What’s worse than Laura’s meaningless banter, is when Clayton gets involved and out loud we have a conversation about the fast tribe members…in front of the fast tribe members…while they are racing. All comments stem from our insecurities that they just may be faster than us. A lot faster than us. It is as if we fear a tribe mutiny and you are all going to trample our backs with your NB 1400’s, leaving us only with each other, the peg leg, and this blog to ramble about “that time we once led a group of SF yahoo’s.”
Have I lost you yet? The tribe was dominated today by a new face, Mr. Andy Cochrane, who was so fast that Clayton and I decided mid-workout that he was not real. Surely this person did not come into the SF tribe and casually destroy PR Wednesday without breaking a sweat. He must be a hologram, a figment of our imagination, a rabbit that was put in the race to pace everyone to a personal best. We said all these things to the rest of the tribe during their burpee session all within earshot of the victor. When the hologram protested, Clayton quickly replied with “quiet down, hologram, invisible people don’t talk.”
Let’s take bets now on the likeliness of Andy returning to us next week.
Josh Zipin took home the Peg Leg for being a really great human. Josh ran the Sacramento Marathon few weeks back in honor of Jack Pinto, a victim of the Sandy Hook shootings last year. Josh is someone you want to get to know and gives some of the best hugs out there.
