With temperatures bouncing between -30 and +7, some snowy days, a splash of freezing rain, and pretty much everything in between… February sure kept us on our toes. And our hands. And our butts. Here’s a quick recap on what this great crew was up to this month:
Workout Highlights
WEEK 1 – EPIC or BADASS
Crunching, climbing, and curtsying can be pretty badass. Pushups and planks can be epic. You got to choose how you were feeling this day… Oh, there was also a rubber chicken involved. If you’re reading this and have questions about the rubber chicken… come find us.
WEEK 2 – Play Your Cards Right
A classic deck of cards workout is always good fun. And when Wendy is the one in charge of flipping the cards… pushups, plank dips, jump squats, and skaters are even more fun! Wendy is still working on her fine motor skills and promises to be a more efficient card flipper next time.
WEEK 2.5 – SNOWGLOBE!
So many of you joined us for this amazing weekend of snowy (and icy) outdoor fun! We had about 100 people participate and could not have done it without the support of so many wonderful volunteers. Also… curling is awesome and we may try and plan an NP curling outing at some point. Stay tuned.
WEEK 3 – Musical Squares
Rihanna led the way as we played our own NP style of musical chairs… musical squares! Small twist in this version of the game is that the winner gets to do extra burpees! (Sorry, Dean…).
WEEK 4 – PR Day!
And finally, back to the locks for another snowy PR day! How do you make running up and down a hill several consecutive times enjoyable, you say? By adding burpees in between each one, of course! And by doing it alongside these smiling faces…
The Coveted Bedazzled Frisbee
This month’s recipient of the one and only bedazzled frisbee has been a wonderful addition to our community. She has been consistently showing up over the last few months, always pushing the pace and making it look easy! Hardworking and humble – so much so that she assumed we were passing the frisbee to her to pass to someone else behind her –
