Grit.

Holy shit batman.

Today was epic.

On this rainy and very windy morning, many of you showed up for 5:28am to test and show yourself your badassery.

It was awe inspiring.

It as humbling.

The old 96er + Gristle are the hardest of all NP challenges (globally BTW) and so very many of you showed up to take this on. In the rain and wind no less (have we had a nuttier weather morning for the old 96er?).

Holy shit we’re #weatherproof y’all!

It was amazing to have so many of our crew out at 6am for our regularly scheduled, gritty, stair workout. You crushed it…. in the steady rain.

To see so many out there, to cheer and holler after each of you… and me, was nuts. This is something that I will always find to be so incredible special. You got up extra early to come and cheer on your NP friends. In the wind and rain.

Thank you NP family. As is true over the years, we were there for each other. In rain, cold, sunshine, hurricanes, extreme heat, and anything else Mother nature throws at us.

There were many hugs and high fives out there today…. from the top of the stadium stairs right to the bottom and from the east to the west side.

Do your non-NP friends also think you’re nuts for things like what we all did this morning- in non-stop rain? Mine do.

Hey- in case you missed it this AM, there was a newbie who joined us at 5:28am! Nice. An epic way to join the NP crew. I think this was the case for the 5:58am crew too. Solid.

If I didn’t get a chance to high five or hug you, I really meant to. I had very little voice left at the end there and not a ton of extra breath…. even after announcements. Yeah, it was a good morning.

I’m not sure if I’ve ever shared this with you before…

I hesitated on attempting this challenge for many years. Perhaps the first 4 years of my NP life (it’s my 8th NP versary month right now). Why?!?!

I look at what you all did today…. laid it all out there… and think back to my early NP years.

I wish I did the same as you did today. Your grit today, and always, really inspire and fuel me. That’s why I showed up this morning. And every morning TBH.

Aaaaand, my legs have been jelly all day long. How about you?

Solid work to all of you this morning. The hardest part was to #justshowup and well, the rest was pure magic.

You’re going to want to check out the rest of the photos from this AM. They dropped this afternoon on FB. Take a look here.

See ya Friday.

Announcements

  • Friday at 5:58am: we’re having #hillsforbreakfast. See you at the bottom of Walterdale Hill.
  • NEXT Wednesday: we are NOT at Commonwealth. We’ll be back at Royal Glenora stairs.
