Museum Month Returns! (Ottawa)

After experiencing a very literal March madness last year, we are happy to announce the return of a wonderful NP Ottawa tradition: Museum Month! Each week of Museum Month, we explore a different museum as a community, and soak up some of the beauty that the Ottawa-Gatineau region has to offer. While we couldn’t quite replicate that this year, we are grateful to everyone who attended the NP Zoom Museum this morning.

For those of you who have not yet had the opportunity to check out the NP Ottawa Zoom museum, feel free to peruse the exhibits below to learn more about this special population (all photographs taken prior to COVID-19).

The people of NP Ottawa are a curious species. While others tend to step around puddles, you may find NPers seated quite comfortably, absorbing mud into their clothes. This is thought to provide camouflage from other real life responsibilities.

The NP Ottawa species does not adhere to traditional desires to avoid extreme temperatures. Researchers have captured evidence of this irrational behaviour, and hypothesize that the ongoing love and support of the community provide additional warmth.

NPers often use specific markers (referred to as “tagging”) in order to recognize one another when out in the larger community. While some are often seen in tagged items, others remain incognito. Sources close to the community state that tagging is purely optional.

When unable to interact face to face, NPers are believed to communicate through various images, which help direct members back to a central meeting location.

The people of NP Ottawa often move as a pack. Above, the community travels by lunge in search of their preferred morning feed, Kettleman’s bagels.

The NP Ottawa community often takes odd photographs. This is believed to be an evolutionarily adaptive strategy, used to encourage others to join them and discover the magic of Wednesday mornings.

While there are still many unanswered questions about this rare species, research demonstrates that November Project Ottawa is a community that you are welcome to join at any time. Sitting in puddles, freezing your eye-lashes, and taking photographs under spiders are not required, though they are encouraged.

Did we mention? We’re glad you’re here.

Solefully,
Rebecca & Becca
