What does the future look like a week from today, a month or even a year from now? Will we still be sporting masks, keeping our two metres of distance, having social gatherings in our backyards still? We’re just as unsure as you are. But, here are some things we would like you to know.
We will continue to connect virtually. You can count on that.
We will continue to listen to Ottawa Public Health and follow the guidelines that are suggested about gatherings.
We will continue to ask questions and seek input and knowledge in areas in which we need to grow in.
We will continue to show up for those around us near and far.
The uncertainty of times like these is unprecedented and makes us often believe that we are in a different realm of our lives.
Here are some silver linings to the past six/seven-ish months:
- some of you became tech-wizards
- some of you graduated
- some of you traverballed to various cities on a weekly sometimes even daily basis
- some of you grew your own vegetable
farmgarden in your backyard - some of you got on a bike, stayed on a bike and maybe never got off a bike…you’re probably still on a bike right now
- some of you learnt about the history of Ottawa and the unsurrendered Algonquin territory that we use to move our bodies on
- some of you had a growth in numbers of the size of your family
- some of you really, really basked and enjoyed the summer heat
- some of you embraced the slower pace of life
No, these are not all the silver linings but they do bring some light to the good that has happened throughout the last half of the year. We’re excited to keep zooming with you and seeing new faces pop up each week. We love the opportunity to still connect with you whether it be through a weird very close up hello-bounce, coffee chats or ongoing conversations beyond Wednesday mornings. We’re grateful.
Here’s to bringing soles together,
Lauren and Liz
