Mountain Goats (YEG)

This morning we challenged you to channel your inner mountain goat as you cruised up the hill for each fire drill. While I was cursing Andrew at times, hoping he’d yell “all clear” or blow the whistle, I overheard Sonya cursing him for calling it too early! It was great. I hope you all also learned a new technique to descend the hill…the serpentine. I found this helped to save my knees. I didn’t realize how steep the hill was until it was actually time to head down.

I was impressed that after all of the hill practice we did with the fire drills you each crushed the burnout, racing from the hay bales to the fence line. I hope you took a moment while catching your breath to take in the view of our amazing city. We gift ourselves by getting up early and giving ourselves the opportunity to see our city the glow of a sunrise…it is really spectacular!

I was also impressed at how Andrew was able to keep track of four exercises during the deck workout. It can sometimes be a challenge to remember what you designated as the heart, spade, club and diamond exercise. He had a great system, ask him about it. I am definitely going to steal it next time!

I look forward to seeing you all Wednesday. Hopefully, your legs will be recovered and you’ll be ready to tackle the Royal Glenora Stairs. #justshowup at 6 AM!

Until next time…SMILE! J
