Absolutely stellar Race Day performances today!!! Collectively knocked the lights outta that workout with tons of PRs, great numbers at both workouts, high energy, and strong newbie showings, especially for such a rough workout (nice work, newbies and recruiters)! Some folks worth recognizing by name: Blake (hit his sub-15 min mark; woah!), Andrew (sub-16!), Anne, Morgan, and Beth (all shaved time like it grows on Jaden’s face). Awesome job! For any others that PR’ed or know of a friend that PR’ed, please give them and/or yourself a shout-out in the FB pics (and tag yourselves)!!! Maybe it was the news coverage or maybe it was the cool air, but whatever got people so fired up and PR-poised, lets get it going again next month!

Workout
Standard Race Day + better form due to prospect of being on a 0.5 sec morning news clip: up-n-over, 50 sit-ups, u-n-o, 50 push-ups, u-n-o, 50 mtn climbers ea leg, u-n-o, 25 burpees, u-n-o with a strong finish.

Notes-A-Plenty
- This morning marked Mary’s final NP workout as an Indy resident (we’ll get her in here as a traverballer soon enough) as she’s headed down to Nashville, TN to start the next chapter of her life. Thanks for all the laughs, smiles, and warm hugs, Mary, and best of luck down there! Come back and see us soon!! PSA: Again, NP_Indy tribespeople, QUIT MOVING! That is all; carry on.

- Friday’s workout spot is the obelisk and fountain one block north of the IN War Memorial. Prepare for a tough one (which should really be a given). See you there for the 6am start!
- Tee-Tagging-Tom (he’s the polar opposite from Teetotaling-Tom, for all my Prohibition history fans out there, woop-woop!) and Shirt-Spraying-Sarah took on the tall task of tagging tons of tight tees and totally turned out a torrent of tremendous tops today; Tanks, team!
- Solid numbers at both workouts this morning! Keep up that growth as we’ll need it to sustain numbers going into the colder months. The more people we can reach with FREE, tough workouts that kick-start the day, the better. Inevitably, folks will decide fall and winter mornings outdoors are too cold compared to a nice warm bed. Try your darnedest not to be those folks. We’ll be out there for you, without fail. For any newbie readers, that means Jason, myself, and so many other folks will be out there hosting and hoistee-ing no matter the weather, no matter the time of year, no matter what!
- Great seeing a traverballer from one of our midwestern sister cities we know and love; thanks for coming out to play, Milwaukee Marissa!
- Run317 Brunch Run – sign up to be entered in the Brunch Run challenge for prizes by giving us your name and email. Or, just sign up for the run using SHOWUP as your promo code for a discount. Details of the event HERE…. Side note: NP will be hosting a “warmup” workout prior to the run as well as tagging….with a SPECIAL BRUNCH RUN tag (that you can only get by showing up to the race). #justshowup
- We’re hosting our first free Fall Freelay relay race on the canal sometime this fall. Stay tuned for details.
- Finally, Harvey. Below I’ve copied and pasted a post from one of our NP leaders in NOLA, Mia. Mia is originally from Houston, and the hurricane has affected and continues to affect folks she knows, neighborhoods where she used to play and grow, and the city that she loves. She says it better than I can, and we’ll continue to see what we can help with from up here in Indy:
- Hi everyone. If you follow me on social media in any form, you’ve probably learned in the past few days that I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. My hometown right now is underwater, with no real end in sight. I started a group text with NP GULF COAST (yes it exists) and we thought it would be really awesome to kick off #NPGIVESBACK with a large-scale effort from all 43 tribes. Here’s what we are asking you. Below is a quick narrative about the needs in Texas right now and how we as a community can give back. If anything, please consider sharing this post with your tribes via social, groups, in person, or whatever you see fit. Right now, more than anything, money is needed if we ever want Houston to be the same again. So please help us come together to give back to a city that means the world to me.November Project is a community – one where we wake up at crazy hours, use cities as our playgrounds, and develop friendships that are unbreakable. We support each other, our community, and even strangers. It’s time to show that support.Houston, Texas and the surrounding areas are suffering from a storm that has wreaked complete havoc and devastation. A storm that will go down in history as one of the worst to ever sweep the state. Home to 6.2 MILLION, the damages expected are far greater than ever before… and the storm isn’t even over. To kick off the #NPGIVESBACK initiative expected to sweep all 43 tribes, we want to share how you can help those affected by Hurricane Harvey.City Officials and Aids have expressed that right now, the highest priority is monetary fundraising. Until the waters subside and the damage can be truly assessed, the best way we can help is donating to those who will be helping first hand in rebuilding the city. Below are a few donation links to the most trusted sources in helping aid the Hurricane victims. Our plan is to work with city representatives to determine if/when we can make physical donations – once we do, we will fill you in. But for now, we ask you to consider giving back in the most direct form. Thank you for your support of Houston, the NP Community, and #NPGIVESBACK.
