Today was a little different for the Brooklyn crew of November Project. When the tribe members arrived to Fort Greene park they were welcomed with the usual sweaty hugs but a big camera crew from Strava. They are in town to film a short film about the running community and how diverse and different the running community is. Often times runners are intimidated about running and starting for the very first time. Theres always every excuse in the book why not to start. It is very common for us to compare ourselves to others especially with all the forms of social media out there. A few excuses are listed below
- I don’t have the flashy runner clothing
- I am not fit enough
- I’ll start next week
- my belly hurts when I run
- I will be to sweaty if I start in the summer
- I don’t own any running sneaker
- I feel really uncomfortable when I run
The list goes on and on and on…..
I commend everyone who woke up this morning laced up their shoes and joined us for the workout. You never know what we have planned ; you know it will challenge you in some way but for the most part you are in the dark. You put all the silly excuses to the side and you crushed a bad ass total body workout.
Thank You for #justshowingup
Meet Ryan he was awarded the Positivity award last week for creating our newest course record for our PR course. Ryan you are an animal and we are glad you show up even if Sierra calls you everything but your name. Get to know him he is a bad ass and big motivator at the workouts.

Meet Bryan he has a similar name to Ryan he is a school teacher so you may not see him much during the year but when you do he’s always representing his grassroots gear. He’s a goal crusher at the workouts and is a powerhouse of positivity. He just broke the 4 hour barrier in the marathon this past weekend with a time of 3:54.
