My mom always told me to remember the k.i.s.s. method. Keep it simple, silly. Stairs and burpees, burpees and stairs. Seems simple enough, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Sure we through in a random sprint to the corner every five minutes or so just to keep you on your toes, but overall today was about putting in work and crushing some stairs.

Maybe it’s because we’re all still on a high from Sunday’s marathon, or because it is finally Spring so LA won’t be cold anymore. I’m not sure, but what I do know is that today everyone was dialed in. There were moments this morning when all I heard was the pitter patter of feet going up and down stairs, the occasional splish splash when someone ran through a puddle, and the sublime echo that resonates from the perfect high five. At 5:30 and 6:30 there wasn’t a single person going through the motions or complaining about burpees. Even during Roxanne everyone shoved excuses out the door and put in 3:13 of 100% effort including the dance break.

I speak often of how proud I am of all of you. Everyone always rises up to whatever challenge we put in front of you. When we add our favorite spice of weird or silly there is never any hesitation to join in. Thank you for being you, and letting me be messy. Oh and for accepting Maggie for being Mags (notice how many people had to run for if you were ever bitten by her). Shout out to Stephen Ruiz for engaging in a Roxanne dance burpee battle with me. I like your moves my man!
