You ever heard the phrase, “it’s not about what you know…it’s about who you know.”
Well at NP part of the magic is building connections. Workout buddies. Friends. Sometimes those people doing burpees or holding your hand while you skip down the sidewalk end up being part of your professional network, your PT, your new marathon coach, your business partner, or your lover. (it allllll happens at NP). Sometimes when you finally figure out what it is that people DO, you know, besides climb stairs and run hills, you’re amazed at how cool the Tribe is. I mean, you’re even more amazed at how inspiring, passionate, and awesome the human beings are who also show up with you so early in the morning.
So this is a reminder of something very important.
- Keep showing up. #nomatterwhat
- Get to know people.
Don’t just get better as athletes and fitness-liking/loving human beings. Get better as human beings. Let’s build our capacity for burpees, sprints, and stadium sections, then just as fiercely build our connections, relationships, and community. Ask people their name–even if you think you should already know it. Find out where they’re from, what they do, why they come to NP…and anything else you’re curious about. But be curious. The more you know, the stronger this tribe is.
So think about it…who do you know?
