– SNOW
This morning was an excellent reminder of what, in my opinion, is the most important and least appreciated part of November Project. Yes, the workouts are hard. Yes, it gets cold and it snows and it rains and its hard to go outside. Yes, we show up no matter what. But the BEST part of November Project is that yes – you will meet new friends. Today’s partner workout was a perfect opportunity for that – how often do you get the opportunity to gruel through an entire hour of harrowing, hard exercises with a stranger you’ve either never met or only met a few times? As we were leaving I saw a whole bunch of you run up to your partner and give them a big hug that looked like maybe just a little more warm than a “normal” November Project hug. I heard people say how much they enjoyed spending time with their partner, and I specifically heard one tribe member say “oh-my-god-it-was-so-nice-to-meet-you-you-are-the-best-this-is-the-best-I-will-bring-that-book-for-you-to-read-next-week!” (she said it really fast and excited so I hope that you read it that way, the effect is important.
Opportunities to truly open yourself up and meet someone new are few and far between in this digital age and I get so much energy watching all of you do just that every Wednesday morning. Thanks for embracing the weird and embracing your fellow tribe members and embracingUS cause we smell kinda bad somedays. Also one final note is that I really really really hope there was and least a few partners who both happen to be single-and-looking cause damn that would be really sweet and Ya THERE’LL BE BABIES. Ok Rick calm down jeeze.
When I showed up this morning it was cold and I barely got any sleep and Carrie said “Hey there grumpy” and I was instantly reminded to smile and get my hug on. Thanks for showing up first every morning Carrie and for being such an inspiration to all of the tribe. SHABOOOOOOYA!
