So that was kinda a weird morning, or at least the past 31 minutes of it. We’re six days away from Halloween and a group of young and old adults, a child and one dog showed up in their full halloween get up. If you didn’t bother to wear a mask or dress up as T-Rex you owned your costume as a personal trainer, athletic enthusiast to a T. Now, we understand one or two of you that live for days like these. But why did people commit to working out in cowboy boots, a onesie or a tutu?
We believe it’s worth mentioning that some moved with grace and beauty while others definitely struggled to move their limbs as they normally would do with such ease. But again our real question is what made the rest of us so called adults dress up? There are probably a couple of reasons we can all think of like… I knew I spent my $150 wisely when purchasing a T-rex costume on amazon or I just happened to find a Salvation Army selling a cheap yet very creepy mask why not invest? Maybe you were afraid of being the only one not in a costume. Or even better you were hoping that you’d be the only sole to wear a costume. Whatever your reason, you did it. So, to answer the question why did you dress up, well why do you do any of that weird, wacky, and tough shit that we throw at you?
It’s cause you love it. Admit it you dressed up for those people that surround you as you move, breath and hustle all at dusk. You did it to brag to your peers, family members and boss. You did it, cause yet again when something is thrown your way at November Project you know you can take it on. Maybe it’s your tribe members that make you feel like a member of their own family or your overwhelming amount of confidence that grows each and every week you show up. Whatever your reason aren’t you that much more happy you did show up in your teletubby, ninja and november project gear?
Make sure you treat yourself to a treat or two on Halloween and remember that we’ll be ready to run, sweat, hug, high five and move alongside you at 6:29am at the Centennial Flame next week.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Mark the date: November 8th EXPECT BIG THINGS and bring a friend to the Centennial Flame with you.
Here’s to bringing soles together,
Lauren and Liz
