WE MISSED YOU (DEN)

Dear Alli, Dylan, and the entire Bell and Kintish families,

We missed you this morning.  It was supposed to be your wedding workout.  You told us you’d be there.  You told us you’d bring your families, in town to celebrate your nuptials.  Your infrequent-NPer friends, like Joe and Brian, even showed up just to be a part of your matrimonial sweatfest.

But you didn’t show up. We missed you. We missed your families.

We know, we know: it’s a big week.  You ran trail half-marathons on Saturday, you sent out very detailed emails about your wedding on Monday, you went hiking with your family yesterday, you’re getting married on Friday, and you’ve been packing for moving to joining the Peace Corps and moving to Paraguay for two years throughout it all.

But really, Alli and Dylan, today was one of your last opportunities to get in a sweat session with us. We were skipping like dinosaurs in excitement.

We were so excited to see you and to celebrate you. We brought signs; we brought a tiara. Hell, we even brought VooDoo Donuts for you. And all we left with was sad faces and sore legs.

We hope that your absence was just a result of kicking off your wedding week with too many Illegal Pete’s burritos and margaritas last night. And more importantly, we hope that you do better at just showing up on Friday afternoon at your wedding.

We love you, Alli and Dylan. We love your families. We congratulate you on your wedding. We wish you happy trails together. We’re going to miss you to the moon and back until you come back to us. And in the meantime, we have no doubt that you will bring your immeasurable talents, boundless energy, and infinite weird-ness to Paraguay.

We missed you, Alli and Dylan. With love,
