Happy Global Running Day! It’s been a jam packed week of fun run times in the Nation’s Capital (and it’s not over, if you’re attending the event tonight with OCRC & M2M). Congratulations again to everybody who raced on the weekend, and congrats to everyone for showing up this morning, despite the uncertain forecast, for our first Sunrise 6K of 2022! We may not have seen the Sunrise, but your smiling faces sure bring light up a gloomy morning.
Since Becca and I have been co-leading NP YOW, we have used our Sunrise 6K’s as a bit of a signal of a transition. Last July we held a Sunrise 6K as our very first in person event after many, many months on Zoom. Then in early December we held our second of the year, which we thought at the time was ushering in the snowy season…little did we know it was actually a transition back to Zoom that we were faced with shortly after. NOW, I don’t want to jinx it… but we are quite sure that this Sunrise 6K is going to be a harbinger of good things to come! How do we know this? Because next week we are back in the Stadium!!! Stretch those calves, and shake out those glutes, because the stairs await! Spread the word, and invite your friends to experience the epicness of the North Side Stands at Lansdowne Stadium. But don’t worry – we aren’t going to go ALL OUT for our first week back…no, we will save that for our first Stadium PR Day of the year (which will be June 29th, for those who like to plan ahead). Let us know if you have fun/different/interesting ways to mix it up on the stairs this year, we have a lot of stadium dates to play with over the next few months!
Have a wonderful week, YOWzers!
Sole-fully,
Becca & Rebecca
