Once a year, all November Project tribes gather for the annual #NPSummit. This year, people from 41+ tribes will descend upon Boston, the original tribe, and hangout for a blur of a weekend featuring a Friday workout at the Harvard Stadium, a North Face Endurance Challenge Race and some type of Saturday party that I still am not sure about. There will be a lot of people from our tribe and other tribes there. Your social media will be flooded with annoying posts of everyone having fun there, that you will either have extreme FOMO, or you will unfollow/mute/block those posting about it. I hope Jen doesn’t unfriend me on Facebook.
Whether you are lucky enough to have been to a summit, or 5, doesn’t really change anything. Don’t get me wrong, if you go, you will have a ridiculous amount of fun and you will remember it for the rest of your life. However, if travelling somewhere for a November Project summit isn’t in the cards for you this year, or ever, I’m here to tell you that it is ok. You see, the good of November Project is found every week in whichever city that you are in. It is the connections that you will make with people that you would otherwise never cross paths with. It is the positivity and the encouragement to keep pushing when your mind and body is yelling at you to stop. It is the opportunity you have to overcome whatever-sized obstacle is in front of you, even if it is getting out of bed that day. It is the ability to yell at the top of your lungs. It is the safe space that everyone has created where you can let your guard down and just be yourself. It is the chance to hug friends, to laugh at yourself and to celebrate others.
Wherever you are on Friday, be it the Harvard Stadium, Walterdale or at any of the other November Project workouts, know that you are still experiencing what November Project is all about.
Friday. Walterdale Hill. 6am.
Find the Good,
Nadim
