Alright alright alright. I feel like I haven’t written a blog in a while. This morning was great, I was sick the last couple of weeks so I missed a workout, and had no voice or lungs for last week. It’s good to be back on track. I figured it was a great time to serenade you with some ‘Take on me’ (or is it take me on?). Taking on the rest of the Canadian tribes in the 7-minute of burpees challenge (known as Sebastians) was a great start to the workout. Congrats to Jamie for firing off 118 in 7 minutes. We didn’t do the math, but I think our average was somewhere between 50-100 per person, so that’s also a win.

During the workout, you may have seen Rick showing off some dance moves (including a questionable twerk). He’s been challenged to a dance off with Casey Winkler of NP Seattle. Keep your eyes on the November Project Instagram account for the final cut. Finished that off with a ‘what is love’ dance by the whole tribe and a crowd surf by Rick. Standard Wednesday morning activities.

This Friday- Pop Pop. We are doing a 7am pop-up workout at the Legislative Building. This is a great chance to recruit. Everyone has the day off, it’s a little later than 6:14am, and it’s Easter- there will be goodies. Make it your goal to bring someone new this Friday morning. We promise you it’ll be a good workout.

Also today- Lindsay announced that she’ll be racing the 50k at Summit (fuck yeah) and passed off the Shabooya to Danielle, who has lived and breathed NP Boston for many years. She knows what’s up. I think she’s racing the 50 miler at Summit? Not confirmed.

Which brings us nicely to Summit 5.0; get your flights booked and get your ass to Summit. Experience the Harvard Stadium stairs on the Friday morning on what will be the biggest NP workout of your life and everyone’s life. Come race a marathon on the Saturday morning, or join half the NP leaders at the 3-mile to go cheer station. Rick will be up there pulling out his dance moves. Megan will be firing off her second marathon in as many weeks (two in two). I’ll be there doing something. Details here.

The MEC race on May 14th will be a nice training run for Summit. There’s a 5, 10, 15k and a half marathon. It’s a good race at Birds Hill Park; I like it because you run loops and somehow that makes it easier to track and push yourself. It’s a good race to PR. And it’s only $15! Details here. They usually sell out, so get on it.

I figured I’d also give you a guys a heads up for Canada Day this year. There are a few things happening. Ivan our man will be hosting his annual street party at Nuburger, and they’ll be looking for a group of NP volunteers to help out during the day in exchange for burgers and beers and free entry to the party. More details to come on that as we hash it out.

Also on Canada Day (the 150th one at that) is the Canada 150 Ultramarathon. It starts way up north of Lac du Bonnet at White Mud Falls, and finishes at Falcon Lake. Jamie Schild, my brother-in-law Murray Carter and myself will be running the relay; 50 miles each. I thought it could be pretty cool to have a NP group come down to Falcon for the long weekend, maybe book campsites at Falcon Lake, and come cheer us on at different segments of the race. It starts at noon on Canada Day, and we will hopefully finish Sunday night sometime. (My summit marathon race will be a training run for what will be twice the distance.) I’m scared. Details for the race here. Big after party at the Falcon Resort after the race.

Sooo, lock it in! See ya Friday, bring the hype.
