Biggest Turning Point in my Life: Last summer, I realized I needed to change. I was at a low point mentally that affected me in pretty much every facet of my life. When you have depression, it’s kind of like living underwater where the world around you is obscured but the thoughts in your head are amplified. The way I coped with these episodes was to mentally checkout, go on autopilot, and ride it out until I was able to surface to my normal state. But, by mindlessly going through the motions too often, I really felt like I lost my sense of who I was. Even though I am very fortunate to have family, friends, and a very strange little dog here in Atlanta who have all helped me over the years (whether knowingly or unknowingly), I recognized that I needed to make more of an effort to grow and get out of my comfort zone. I wanted to be true to myself but do it in a way where I become more kind, more positive, and more available to others. read more

ATL Snow Day Play Day: Tug-o-War Edition

It’s a scary time in Atlanta…. when the forecast says “SNOW.” I mean, let’s remember the 2014 #Snowpacolypse that hit the city and had every other city laughing…

When it does snow in Atlanta, you don’t expect it, so no matter where you’re from – transplant from Boston or Minneapolis, or born and raised in Atlanta – you feel giddy. Snow just feels weird in Atlanta. And with snow, you feel like a kid again. read more

A Can of Whoop Ass

Tis’ the season for giving!

We decided to be like old ladies who work out in their houses, or moms who read Good Housekeeping and use canned goods as weights for this morning’s workout. Our tribe members came laden with Campbell’s soup cans, Green Giant vegetables, Bush’s baked beans… (we’re giving these brands some serious PR!) We told them it was for a donation drive, and then told them we were using them to work out first. And really, we delivered a can of Whoop Ass! (well, lots of cans!) read more

NP, Meet ATL

After seven months of pledging, a process that truly makes outsiders think November Project is a cult (not a cult!), we officially made it happen! We put ATL on the NP map!

It was a challenge. Brogan was pushing us “Hit 100. I want to see you guys hit 100.” And every week, 60, 70 members showed up. We couldn’t break it. But we kept trying. And our members kept showing up. read more
