Bad weather days are my favourite because every person I see puts a smile on my face. I love seeing people fight through whatever the world is throwing at them. Today, there was a lot thrown at you, yet every single person set that aside and worked their tail off. What’s that Gate 2? We can’t come in? Cool. Step aside. hey Mom Nature, we see your rain and your wind. Please step aside (respect your elders folks). Oh Stadium, we can’t go to the west side? Cool. We’ll step on the other side… Y’all are BADASS and it brings a smile to my face. Other things that are bringing a smile to my face right now, is that apparently, I have conversations with things that aren’t living. Is Mom Nature considered alive? She must be the most prepared person on the planet. Is she even on the planet? I think I’ll stop there.
Let’s clear up a few things about the Old 96er before next week:
If you finished both the lower bowl and the upper bowl when we called time, then you are slightly behind the pace to finish the Old 96er. It’ll be a team effort to make sure we that we have good traffic flow. No one likes traffic jams. Run on the right, run faster on the left to pass. If someone is behind you on the left lane, even if you’re passing other people, you should let them through.
Start Order:
- If you have never completed the Old 96’er AND completed both the lower and upper sections today, you will be starting first. If you weren’t around today, and want to know if you’re close, you should be able to finish the lower bowl in 21-22 minutes if you want any hopes of finishing.
- That group will be followed by those who have completed it the Old 96er before.
- Then it will be those who are not sure how far they’re going to go in the 59 minutes.
If you’re not planning on going all out for all 59 minutes, then you should be showing up to the 6am workout. This will start at 6am with a bounce. We’re going to expect you to be going as hard as you can for those 30 minutes too.
Why do we call it the Old 96er? Watch this video, and it will make sense. Actually, maybe it won’t make sense.
