Stairs Again?? and Homecoming Week!! (IND)

The Issue: A majority of the stairs of our beloved Indiana War Memorial have been closed for months as they renovate and repair the memorial. While we have a love/hate relationship with those stairs, we’ve longed for that “stair workout” that has become a staple of our Wednesday mornings.

The Solution: When you don’t have a lot of stairs to run a few times, you find the few stairs you have and run those a shit load of times!! So…that’s what we did!! It was hard, it kicked our asses, and it made us question why we ever said we missed them in the first place. But, in the end, it is all of those things that we have come to love about those steps. Today we did “mini stair runs” which was just repeated runs (Starting at 10 or 9 depending on which workout you attended) of each set of stairs on each landing, followed by 3 reps of an exercise on each landing. After a lap, you reduce the amount of stair runs and increase the number of reps. In the end…it’s a lot of stair running, which, let’s be honest, we all needed.

Quick Announcements – this Friday we will be meeting at the North End of the Canal Walk (right in front of Bugg’s Temple and IU Health). We will be bidding a fond fairwell to Rachel who is packing up her bags and gonna head out west to join the Seattle tribe and only drink cold brew coffee. Come join us for her send-off workout and for breakfast immediately following!!

The Inaugural Pacer’s 5K is coming up on October 20th and since we love our Pacers and our 5K’s (not to mention the fact they let us workout on their FLOOR!!!), we are getting a group to sign up. Major Announcement: Next week is NP Indy’s first ever Homecoming Week!! This means we will have activities every morning of the week including our normal Wednesday and Friday workouts. We will also have a kickoff social on Monday evening and Homecoming social on Friday night. To sweeten the pot we have a SPECIAL TAG that you can earn by making it to the morning workouts and even more special tag if you make it to ALL the morning workouts. A full schedule is posted below. Thanks to Jaden for his help on getting this put together. Come to any and all of these events and invite friends…it’s gonna be an epic week.
